DAMNED IF YOU DO, DAMNED IF YOU DON’T
31 paintings, executed in multiple mediums over the last year, display Nathan’s ability to paint and draw in an array of layered techniques. Tattoo Flash from Prof. Milton Zeis, Tarot Cards, Vintage graphics, classical paintings, comic books, religious iconography, and a human skull from Nathan’s personal collection all enrich the works in telling a story.
The new group of works are a reminiscing of a life. Plein Air paintings of places once traveled to as a postcard of the past. Pin-up girls reminding one of the relationships had along the way. Folklore mermaids recalling the deepest darkest fantasies.
Like the uncertain outcomes of Life, Nathan’s process is not planned but a stream of consciousness allowing things to fall into place on their own. The grim reaper appears throughout the series to suggest the inevitable;

Nathan Kostechko, born 1984 in San Clemente, California, lives and works in Los Angeles at his art studio and tattoo collective Heaven’s. Nathan is a multifaceted artist pulling from all the mediums he practices; tattooing, painting, illustration, graphic design, and photography.
